The third edition of the <strong>Women\u2019s Day Run<\/strong> brought together more than 200 runners, walkers, cheerleaders, and kids \u2014 all moving for one powerful cause: keeping girls in school through the <strong>Mercy Line menstrual kit program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And wow, did we move the needle. Together, we raised <strong>UGX 9.2 million<\/strong>, almost double last year\u2019s total, funding hundreds of reusable menstrual kits that will last up to two years. That\u2019s not just pads \u2014 that\u2019s dignity, education, and opportunity for Ugandan girls who might otherwise miss class every single month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Highlights \ud83c\udf89<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Distances from <strong>3 km to 16 km<\/strong> meant everyone \u2014 from first-timers to seasoned runners \u2014 found their stride.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>youngest runner<\/strong>? Just 8 years old. Every shilling raised at the Women\u2019s Day Run goes straight to Mercy Line, helping girls stay in classrooms where they belong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What\u2019s Next? \ud83d\ude80<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Women\u2019s Day Run was just the start. We\u2019re already looking ahead to <strong>2026<\/strong>, when we aim to bring an event filled with all the things we&#8217;ve come to appreciate and love about this event. And for the first time, we\u2019ll add another date to the calendar: the <strong>Mother\u2019s Day Run in May 2026<\/strong> \u2014 family-focused, community-powered, and supporting an athletic scholarship fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Until then, keep running, keep talking, and keep showing up for girls and women.
